Sarah's Story

There are so many things that will be shared on this website as we move forward.  I want to bring awareness of my daughter Sarah's story in hopes that many lives will be saved (there is further information about Sarah's struggle with anorexia on the eating disorders page).  If Sarah were here today this is what she would have wished for us to do.  This website is being dedicated today to Sarah on her first Easter in Heaven with the Lord on April 12, 2009.  She is very near.

There is so much to say of Sarah's life.   She was truly a shinning inspiration to all who knew her.  I miss her greatly but know that she is with the Lord.  I had an amazing dream on December 17th after I had been feeling very sad on this day.  In my dream I was given a video of Sarah.  I asked in my dream twice if this was after she passed.  I was told yes.  I watched the video in my dream which was all of Sarah.  She was so angelic, beautiful, radiant and happy.  It was incredible and I have never had such a beautiful dream in all of my life.  Since this time I have had such a peace that passeth all understanding and know that she is indeed doing very, very well.  What has also brought me great comfort in the midst of this is that one week before she passed away on October 25, 2008 she put her handprint in blue clay and inscribed the words "I Surrender All" on one side of the frame and placed a modeling picture on the other side.  This is shown in detail on the donations page.   What an amazing testimony this is of Sarah's faith in the Lord.  This is what gets me up every morning as I know that the Lord will bring something amazing from this as he never wastes a hurt as one pastor would say and He will use this to save other young women's lives.  Sarah is doing wonderful as she is in the very presence of the Lord and she has paved the journey of her dreams so that many young women will be saved.  I believe now that this was her purpose.  The mother part of me wishes that she was still here but I know that many young women will be saved through her legacy and in someway Sarah can see all of this.  When the Lord does call me home what a celebration that will be to see Sarah again and to know in my heart that many young women will be saved for all of eternity.  Yes, the Lord is always faithful!

There are so many miracles that happened in our lifetime that I will continue to add on this website.  One recent miracle was a trip to Japan in which we were suddenly flying with the City of Alhambra to attend the Sister City Tour of Japan which was from October 6th through 16th, 2007.  I had known of this trip for several months but knew that it was not possible for me to attend at the time and prayed that if I were to attend that the Lord would make a way where there was no way.   I was in New York with Sarah on October 3rd, 2007 when I received a call from Councilman Gary Yamauchi who was the Mayor of Alhambra at the time.  His picture is to the left.   He let me know that he was unable to attend this trip for health reasons and asked if I would be able to attend and bring someone with me.   I was absolutely amazed.  He personally had the 2 tickets transferred to us and paid for the entire trip.  Sarah did not even have a passport so we were able to get her one immediately which was a miracle in itself and we flew from New York one day apart from each other and flew out of LAX through JPL on October 6th to go to Japan.  This group included City Council, former Mayors, the Commissioner and several others for a total of twelve that attended.  Gary told me to have the "time of my life".  At the time, I had no idea that Sarah would not be here today and am so very grateful that we had such an amazing trip.  We had such a wonderful time!  It was such a blessing to be with this group, get to know everyone over in Japan and meet the Mayor of Kirishima and the City Council.  We visited a new city every day and were treated with VIP Service.  We did have the time of our lives and Sarah's Birthday was on October 10th.  Gary Yamauchi has been such a blessing to us that I shall remember all of my life.  He truly has a heart of Gold.  Please see several pictures of Japan on the bottom of the page.

Sarah's Memorial Program

Sarah was born on October 10, 1988 in Pasadena, California and grew up with her eldest brother Joseph and mother Rebecca for many years of her life.  From the moment she was born there was a special light about her.  She brought joy wherever she went.  One very special memory is that she loved to scrub floors at 2 years of age and would sing "Sing Sweet Nightingale" while doing so with the hugest smile on her face.  It was a precious sight!
She attended Light and Life Christian School graduating sixth grade as Valedictorian, Foothill Christian School for junior high and South Hills High School for a brief time.  Sarah was a light to all that knew her and truly cared deeply about the needs of others.  She was so thankful for her friends that were in her life.  She had a very strong faith and believed that nothing was impossible through the Lord.  She was bright, dedicated, driven, most beautiful and believed that dreams do come true.  She believed that anything can be accomplished in this life and that nothing should stop you from pursuing your dreams.  So many miracles happened during Sarah's lifetime that are truly unheard of.  The Lord opened so many doors for her in the pursuit of her dreams.  Sarah always had the Lord and angels watching over her from the day she was born in a very special way and had a huge favor and anointing from the Lord.  So many people loved her.  Sarah had a way of making everyone feel special and took great care in remembering birthdays and special events for her friends and family.  She had the most positive attitude and was so driven to accomplish her dreams.  She said "I REALLY do think anything is possible...you just have to trust in God and put your mind to it!"  At the age of fifteen she knew that she wanted to move to New York to pursue the Fashion Industry and worked so very hard to pursue this dream.  She was dedicated, driven and determined.  She focused on this goal and knew that with the Lord truly nothing was impossible.  Sarah would say if she were here for no one to ever give up on their dreams and to pursue them with everything in you.  She spent the last three years in New York pursuing her dream as a model.  She enjoyed this thoroughly and being so creative absolutely put everything she had into this dream.  She developed many friendships in New York.  She also loved hanging out with friends, shopping, movies, reading and had such an eloquent way with words.  She was very close to her mother who she said was her best friend.  What a joy Sarah was to all who knew her and a bright light especially in the City of New York.  She was radiant wherever she went which was noticed by all and made such a difference in the lives of others. What a blessing Sarah was during the time she served here on earth.  She will truly be missed by all.  We receive much comfort by the Holy Spirit knowing that she is in the very presence of the Lord and His Glory and that we will see her again.

What I spoke at Sarah's Services

From the day my daughter was born my life was changed immeasurably.  Sarah did have a timetable all of her own.  Her labor was for only one hour and she came with such a strong force.  Sarah always had such a strong intuition and knew precisely when she needed to get things done in her life and where to be very much led by the Lord.  She was the biggest blessing that I have been given here on earth.  From the moment she was born there was a special light about her.  She brought joy wherever she went.  So many people since she has passed into eternal glory have let me know (people I did not even know) what a light she was wherever she went.  She was indeed a shinning star and bright light and brought so much hope, comfort and inspiration to those who knew her.  One very special memory is that she loved to scrub floors at 2 years of age and would sing "Sing Sweet Nightingale" while doing so with the hugest smile on her face.  It was a precious sight!  This sweetness that she had as a child completely followed her through her growing up years.
Sarah grew up with my son Joseph and me for most of her life.  We were very close as a family.  Our faith grew strong in our family as we relied upon the Lord to always be there through everything.  Sarah’s faith grew and grew and became stronger than my faith.  For those of you that know me well, you know that my faith is very strong… but Sarah’s faith was the faith that moved mountains.  She knew with everything in her that the Lord would make a way where there was no way.  There was nothing impossible that could not be accomplished or done because with Sarah working so hard and being so driven and ambitious and the Lord performing miracles left and right that were unheard of …. What a combination.
My daughter while growing up had very special, close friends.  Some of you are here today and teachers.  I thank the Lord that you were in her life and that she was in your life.  She enjoyed singing, being in plays as a child, shopping, excelled in school getting straight A’s and just about everything.  With Sarah there was such a lightness about her.  Her roommate from New York has said that here Sarah came into New York City.  She described her as tall, blonde and quite angelic into a neighborhood where many wore black and she was quite the contrast.  She just flitted in and spread all of this joy around her neighborhood and all around her.  I do know that I birthed her and that she was human but there was such an angelic quality about her spreading lightness and joy wherever she went.

At the age of fifteen she knew that she wanted to move to New York to pursue the Fashion Industry and worked so very hard to pursue this dream.  She first made up a “Dream Book” and placed the pictures in this book of her dream to move to New York and model and had a huge poster of New York that she gazed at every day in her room to inspire her to pursue her dreams.  She knew that life was Extraordinary and not ordinary. She was dedicated, driven and determined to accomplish to her dream.     My daughter Sarah and I were so very close.  It was an unusual type of closeness that is extremely rare and precious.  She was not only my daughter, but my best friend.  We would always call each other at the exact same moment and shared so much.  She was my baby and I am in much shock and sorrow but know in the depth of my soul that she is with the Lord.  She has written me so many special cards that I shall always treasure.  Her faith was so strong. The Lord was always her father here on earth and now she is with Him face to face in His very presence with all of the angels that protected her since her birth.
When I was in New York making arrangements her roommate gave me a frame that Sarah had just made on 10/25/2008.  This frame says “I surrender all” which touched me more than words can say.  I know that she is in heaven with the Lord and that even if we were all in this room to live for 100 years what is that in comparison to eternity.
